The "Threshold Theatre Group " was set up to provide a training ground for its parent company, the Norfolk & Norwich Operatic Society.
One of Threshold's objectives is "to train young and inexperienced people to gain a good knowledge of all aspects of operatic and dramatic arts".
The company put on its first production in 1995. For a list of productions that Threshold has performed to date, click here.
In 1997 we gained a National Lottery award from the Arts Council. This was used to provide workshops and training for Threshold members.
From its start in 1995 until 2001, Threshold appeared at the Walter Roy Theatre at the Hewett School, Norwich.
Threshold is proud to have moved to the prestigious Norwich Playhouse with our production of Sweet Charity in May 2003.
Our 2004 production of Spend Spend Spend was an East Anglian amateur premiere. We were honoured to have the attendance of Viv Nicholson, around whose life this fabulous show is based, at the opening night. We have since presented "Billy" , "Disco Inferno" , "Hired Man" and "Jeckyll and Hyde".
